We’re excited to share the February 2025 edition of our monthly blog series, featuring a selection of Ternary’s key recent FinOps enhancements. Last month, we introduced custom text for dashboards, a simplified integration experience, support for MongoDB Atlas costs, and a new managed service provider (MSP) billing rule. Our FinOps roundup for February 2025 includes an enhanced user experience for Ternary Anomaly Detection, MSP custom branding and billing statements, and extended forecasting ranges.

Purpose-built for FinOps, Ternary empowers organizations to establish cloud cost transparency, improve cost and usage efficiency, and foster communication between teams. Read on for how Ternary’s latest enhancements help customers optimize cloud investments and support partners in scaling their FinOps services.

Enhanced user experience for Anomaly Detection

We’re excited to introduce major updates to the Ternary Anomaly Detection engine. These enhancements help you detect, manage, and resolve unexpected fluctuations in your cloud costs and usage more quickly and accurately.

You’ll now find the most recent anomalies at the top of the page, where you can address them right away. We’ve also introduced status updates on alert events, helping you stay ahead of potential issues. By grouping alerts by rule, we’ve made it simpler to troubleshoot and monitor related events. Plus, with the detail modal now displaying the expected range, you’ll gain deeper insights into how anomalies deviate from the norm, helping you make more informed decisions.

MSP custom branding with logos

We’re thrilled to introduce a new feature that allows MSPs to add their company logo to the Ternary platform! Displaying your logo in the platform navigation (and on billing statements) creates a cohesive brand experience that extends to your customers’ view as well. To make the most of this new feature, we recommend uploading two versions of your logo: a square logo for the collapsed navigation view and a horizontal logo for the expanded navigation view.

MSP Billing Statements

We’re excited to introduce Ternary MSP Billing Statements! This new feature enables partners to generate detailed billing snapshots that seamlessly integrate into your invoicing process. Providing accurate, easy-to-understand records of charges and services, these statements help you maintain trust with your customers.

This feature streamlines operations for partners, as well. It reduces the time spent on manual invoicing and improves the accuracy of your financial records. Plus, as noted above, you can add your company logo to billing statements, reinforcing your brand identity in every interaction.

With Ternary Forecasting, you can customize your views to display data with daily, weekly, or monthly granularity. These options provide flexibility to analyze at the level that suits your needs. The opportunity to access up to 24 months of historical data offers deeper insights into past trends. Meanwhile, projecting up to two years into the future enables better long-term planning and more informed decision-making. Finance, Engineering, and FinOps teams can now work together more effectively to forecast spend. This update equips you with the tools to stay ahead, making it easier than ever to manage both current and future cloud data.
