What is FOCUS?

The FinOps Open Cost and Usage Specification (FOCUS™) is a technical specification that normalizes cost and usage billing data across cloud vendors.

What problem does it solve?

Organizations get billing information every day from Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), and other Independent Software Vendors (ISVs). Each of these has its own terminology, taxonomy, and metrics. FOCUS standardizes billing data across providers, making cost analysis easier for organizations operating in complex environments.
