Welcome to the July 2025 edition of our monthly FinOps feature roundup. Each month, we highlight the latest Ternary innovations that help you improve cloud cost transparency, boost efficiency, and strengthen cross-team collaboration.
In June, we delivered key updates to billing operations, reporting, and budget management. Our July 2025 FinOps roundup features enhanced timeframe controls in reporting, a new integration with OpenOps, and a fresh set of product explainer videos. We’re also working on some exciting new features, so stay tuned for what’s coming next.
Read on to see how our latest enhancements enable customers to maximize the value of their cloud investments and help partners scale their FinOps services.
Enhanced timeframe controls in reporting
The Ternary Reporting Engine now includes enhanced timeframe controls, giving you greater flexibility to explore historical cloud spend with precision. You can select rolling windows—such as 30, 90, or 180 days—and offset the start date by days or months to reveal meaningful trends over time. This update helps teams go beyond static snapshots to uncover deeper financial insights. Whether you’re comparing previous-month spend, analyzing quarterly patterns, or identifying shifts in long-term usage, you can now build tailored reports and add them directly to your dashboards for continuous visibility. These improvements make it easier to understand past behavior, forecast more accurately, and drive smarter budgeting decisions.
Integration with OpenOps
We’re excited to share a new strategic collaboration between Ternary and OpenOps, the no-code FinOps automation platform. Customers using both tools can now connect Ternary’s actionable insights with OpenOps’s automated workflows to streamline and scale their FinOps operations.
With this integration, you can:
- Fetch usage recommendations
- Retrieve budgets and anomalies
- Create and assign cases to users
Together, Ternary and OpenOps help you reduce waste, accelerate approvals and reporting, and drive cost accountability across your organization.

New videos: Ternary in 90 Seconds or Less
In June, we launched a new video series to help you get even more out of Ternary. Ternary in 90 Seconds or Less features short, focused videos that showcase key features, use cases, and answers to common questions. Whether you’re building a FinOps practice or improving an existing one, these videos show how Ternary delivers real-world results.
This month, we highlighted Ternary Anomaly Detection and Case Management. Senior Sales Engineer Mike McDowell recorded two quick walkthroughs that demonstrate how to use these tools in practice.
In the first video, Mike explains how you can quickly identify and respond to unexpected cloud spend. You’ll see how Ternary helps teams detect, assess, and take action with confidence.
In the second video, he demonstrates how to create a Ternary Case, with the option to link it to Jira. He shows how this feature helps teams dig deeper into the root cause of an anomaly and manage follow-up actions efficiently.
By capturing context and assigning ownership, Ternary helps FinOps and engineering teams collaborate, investigate anomalies, and resolve issues faster.
The Ternary team is dedicated to helping our customers and partners throughout their FinOps journey. See our latest enhancements in action.
