Purpose-built for FinOps, Ternary empowers organizations to establish cloud cost transparency, improve cost and usage efficiency, and foster communication between teams. Read on for how Ternary’s latest enhancements help customers optimize cloud investments and support partners in scaling their FinOps services.
Introducing Ternary for Public Sector
In March, we announced the launch of Ternary for Public Sector. This purpose-built solution supports state, local, and education (SLED) organizations in achieving efficient and transparent financial management. Available as SaaS or self-hosted, it provides the flexibility to align cloud investments with budget, IT infrastructure, and regulatory requirements. With features like budget tracking, detailed reporting, and spend oversight across business units and agencies, Ternary for Public Sector helps SLED organizations optimize costs across commercial and government cloud accounts while improving financial accountability.

Dashboards just got more powerful—now supporting up to 25 widgets!
The Ternary Reporting Engine powers one of our most popular features: Ternary Dashboards. We’re constantly refining and expanding its capabilities based on valuable feedback from our customers and partners. In 2024, we increased the widget limit from 12 to 16—and now, we’re taking it even further. With this latest update, you can add up to 25 widgets. This expansion unlocks greater flexibility to visualize data, track key metrics, and customize your dashboards to fit your unique needs.

Granular MSP Customer Management settings
Managed service provider (MSP) partners have full control over their managed Ternary customer tenants, from implementation and onboarding to user management. In July 2024, we introduced a new Settings tab within Ternary MSP Customer Management. As a result, MSP admins can fully manage cloud configuration and optimization recommendations across all customer tenants.
With this latest enhancement, MSPs offering FinOps as a service now have even more granular control over platform features for their customers.
What’s new?
- Tenant-specific customization: Instead of applying a single global setting, MSPs can now configure settings individually for each customer tenant.
- Custom default settings: To streamline management, MSPs can predefine and automatically apply specific settings to all newly created child tenants.
These updates provide greater flexibility, allowing MSPs to fine-tune platform access and features to better align with their customers’ needs.
